Blackduck Lake is one of the top Walleye Lakes in Minnesota. Fish include Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch, Sunfish, Crappie & Largemouth Bass. Other area lakes also offer great fishing opportunities.
Summer fishing is a time to slow down presentation and to fish deeper and mid lake humps and bars, especially at bright day times. Weed edges will usually hold some walleyes all summer long. Try slip bobber fishing, especially late evening. Trolling smaller crank baits can trigger walleye action, you may need a weight to get them deeper.
Deer & Grouse Hunting
For Northwoods folks, fall means hunting season! As the leaves peak at the end of September, hunters are getting ready for the hunting opener. Grouse, duck, goose, deer & bear are all popular targets.
In the Blackduck area local woods were very wet, concentrating the birds for easy hunting. The Blackduck and Bemidji area has an abundance on public land for hunting, from several state forests to Chippewa National forest (660,000 acres) to tax forfeited state and county land, and included ATV and non ATV trails and backwoods.
